     Have you had a sleep test to check for sleep apnea? I know quite a few people who have it. A machine that forces air into your nose makes a lot of difference for a lot of people. The reasons for sleep apnea include being overweight.

      Ear plugs at wal-mart! No joke. I am in the army and I have to sleep with snoring all the time. I use the ear plugs they give us for the shooting range. If not that then try wads of toilet paper. Just don't let it get inside of your eat. Make them big wads.

      Go to wal-mart and buy some diphenhydramine HCL. Some brand names are Benadryl, Unisome, or Dimedrol. That drug makes your sleepy.

    How can I get my husband to stop snoring?
    My husband is a former smoker (he hasn't had a ciggie in 5 months) and he is chronically stuffy. He snores incredibly loudly, and it keeps me from falling asleep - and being a stay-home mom to a 2yr old boy, sleep is a necessity.       If he is sleeping with his back on the bed, try to convince him to sleep sideways. When you're facing upwards, the tissue falls into your throat in a way that causes snoring. This easily the single most effective, immediate solution.

      Also, a healthy person is less likely to snore. There are plenty studies to show that those who eat and exercise well are less likely to snore.

      Finally, part of it could just be innate. There's a chance there's just nothing you can do about it.

      .He needs to talk to his doctor about it. There is no reason for it to disturb your rest without him at least trying to correct the condition. Either wake him every time he starts snoring (and disturbs you) so he'll get as little rest as you do, or sleep in another room with ear plugs.

      My lover also snores (not wall shaking, but loud enough that if I am awake when he does it, I can't fall asleep until he stops). If he and I were to be spending nights together regularly, I'd definitely request he get checked out and see what could be done...might be sleep apnea.

I had a roomie who snored terribly and went to the Doctor only to find out Nasal Polyps where the issue. If it's loud and problematic, you may have a breathing problem that your Doc would be able to treat.

      No, I purchased one about 2 months ago. The 30 day free trial is a joke because you will receive it in about 3 weeks so there isn't anyway you can tell if it will work for you in just 1 week!     I really don't want to sound selfish or anything but my friend has such an awful snoring problem.       I think breathe-right strips work pretty well, also some things like changing the position of the person sleeping work. Change from a thin pillow to a thick one, or a thick pillow to a thin one, or even try to get the person to sleep inclined a little bit or something. I've heard of people who put little blocks under the legs of the bed on the head and left the legs of the bed at the foot alone, to incline the bed slightly. Little changes like this sometimes will stop a snore. Other times it may be harder.

      I have not heard of that product and this may sound crazy but buy you or whoever a new pillow. If the head is not properly supported it will cause you to snore. I use to snore bad and bought a new pillow and now im quiet.

      Change your sleeping habits. For example if you sleep always on your back, sleep on your side. Also don't sleep on such a large / tall / big pillow; that could put your neck in a position where air going in can vibrate that part of the thoat that makes people snore. Good luck!

      Usually the only thing you can do is have a medical procedure done. Try sleeping on your stomach (snoring is the worst when the person sleeps on their back). You might want to try using a cough drop while you fall asleep (not so good for your teeth, but it's only for one night!).

      You need to find out WHY you're snoring first, before you can fix it. A lot of different things cause snoring. (sleep apnea isn't one of them- it's only a symptom that accompanies it). Do you have large tonsils? Sinus problems? Severe allergies? You can go to the Dr. to get any of these diagnosed really easily. You can try things like Flonase which is a steroid nasal spray if the problems lies in your nasal passages. (especially if it's mostly at a different house- my first thought would be an allergy problem). But figuring out the cause is the best way to find the cure.

    Has anyone used a product called snore mender?
    My partner snores every night, and keeps me awake, and we have found a gum shield on the internet called snore mender. I was wondering if anyone has tried it, and what did they think ?

      Well, I really feel ya cause my husband has an awful problem. It drove me so nuts and it threatened our marriage. So here's what I've found in my desperation:
      Snore strips help about 80% or more of the time. Sometimes they come off but seriously, they have saved our marriage. you can get them at any drug store and they go over the bridge of his nose.
      If he is willing there is a chin strap snore device out there, but I haven't tried it and it just looks so gimpy my husband doesn't want it either. They are like 60$ so the snore strips are better.

      Forget all that cheapo TV crap! Go see your doc and ask for a sleep study, you may have sleep apnea, a potentially deadly condition! If you do have it, he'll hook you up with a CPAP machine which will end your snoring and let you get a more restful sleep every night.
