Are these lifestyle changes that we hear so much about from our doctors, online and books really very important?
-The answer is absolutely.
Changing lifestyle means to stop doing bad things for your body and start doing things your body will benefit from.
Some illnesses can be healed very fast, while some require from couple of months to several years.
Sleep apnea is a disorder that has serious consequences on the health of each person, but a simple change in your lifestyle can STOP SLEEP APNEA in a short period of time.
Although it is recommended to look for professional help for a serious disorder such as sleep apnea, but it's even better not to sabotage your own body and change your lifestyle. It is enough to make a change in lifestyle and diet. (Keep in mindthat if you just rely on the medical help means that you'll always have a need for medicines to stop sleep apnea.)
Some people do not manage to make changes in their lifesyle and eating habits. Why is that so?
They took wrong way in their lifestyle and went so far, so they no longer have the strengh or wish to return, so they turn to doctors for help, and
Old and already established connections in the brain.
Metaphorically, connections in the brain are warm winter home. Daily you have to go in fifteen different directions. Each direction represents a different habit or behavior. Changing lifestyle means that you stop using the five of them that you use, and make brand new ways. You may be wondering why this would be a problem?
Problem is that your warm winter home is surrounded by four feet high snow. You have to penetrate these new paths and keep in mind that snow falls every day and covers your paths again which lead to recovery from sleep apnea.
Did you understand why it is so hard to make changes?
What really means change your lifestyle and diet?
Instead of answering this question I'll ask you a question and set a conclusion.
Do you have a SLEEP DISORDER/sleep apnea? If you have sleep apnea, you can right now remember at least four things for which you know they have bad influence on your sleep .
No matter how hardit can be to make changes; changes that you need to do when you have to stop sleep apnea do not needmuch time and are not as difficult as other illnesses.
While waiting for effects, make decisions which will set foundations for your ongoing healing from sleep apnea.
Then, you can read statistics about people with sleep apnea and be glad that you're not part of that statistic anymore.

QUESTION:
Is surgery to cure sleep apnea safe?
I recently have been diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea and have started treatment with a CPAP. It makes me feel better but I just feel uncomfortable no matter how hard I try to get used to it. I am not obese(185 lbs, 5'11") so that is not the cause of my sleep apnea. I am meeting with my doctor soon to discuss other treatments outside of the CPAP, but I wanted to see if anyone could give me information or personal experiences on the surgery before I meet with him.-
ANSWER:
I had the surgery for sleep apnea....they did the laser removal of my uvula. They also fixed a deviated septum......It was the worst thing I ever did....not only did it hurt like H*** but it never really got rid of my sleep apnea....the pain after surgery was so intense I lost 15 pounds in one week.....couldn't eat or drink anything...it just caused it to hurt that much more...the only thing I looked forward to was my liquid Tylenol every 4 hours.....good luck with your decision!!

QUESTION:
How did I get sleep apnea? Can it be cured? What did I do to get this suddenly?
I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about 3 years ago out of the clear blue sky. I was 38 years old and never had any major health problems. From what I read it is hereditary but no one in my family has this. I hear it could lead to stroke, heart attack, etc. How in the world could such a disease just come out of the clear blue sky!!!! I am totally confused and need to know how to CURE this disease!!!!!!!!!-
ANSWER:
Depends on how it developed...much sleep apnea is caused by being overweight (not assuming anything about you, just making a statement), losing weight in that case, could "cure" (for lack of better words) the apnea. If the reasoning behind your apnea is something that is controllable, then it is much easier to correct once the "issue" is corrected. Cure (if any) is based on cause.

QUESTION:
Do you have sleep apnea?
Do you have to sleep EVERYNIGHT with a breathing machine? to cure it? (My doctor thinks I have it...and I have a sleep study in a few days) Just wondered how this is cured.-
ANSWER:
I have sleep apnea -- a mixed apnea with both obstructive and central apneas. There are several cures for apnea, depending on which you are diagnosed with. If you are prescribed a CPAP or BiPAP, it is a device having a 99% cure rate. Some apneas can be cured with surgery, and some require surgery and a C/BiPAP...and some only the machine. It's a hard "pill" to swallow when you think of having to use it every night for the rest of your life. However, think of the alternatives: daytime sleepiness, chronic fatigue, snoring so bad that you stop breathing, heart disease, high blood pressure, heart failure, stroke or death.
Do you realize if you're healthy now (except for your sleep apnea), non-compliance with treatment methods could cause heart disease down the road? I don't know about you or anyone else, but I choose the CPAP machine. New machines are VERY quiet and there are MANY masks to choose from that are minimally invasive and made for your comfort.
Trust me - I understand your sense of apprehension. Before my study I was instructed on apnea and the cures. I knew that I would choose surgery before sleeping with a machine every night. However, surgery was not an option...but a CPAP gave a 100% cure rate. Good odds, in my book.
Hope you have the results you're looking for. But don't worry about "the machine." The alternatives are much worse.

QUESTION:
my bf is a snorer...it's driving me bananas!!..are sleep doctors expensive?
I'm literally going insane with his snoring...it's like sleeping next to a big broken truck reving up...in fact it's probably more annoying...and i've been with him more than 3 years...i'm a light sleeper too...it seems the only time I could sleep through the night is if I've consumed alcohol or sleeping pills or I've been so sleep deprived therefore so exhausted on the 3rd or fourth day that i would completely knock out....and then the cycle would start again...i try not to take sleeping pills because it makes me feel woozy the next day...Nothing has helped...he quit smoking for a year now....he is a drinker..but he doesnt drink everyday...i don't know if that's the case....he is a social drinker so i dont think he'll quit completely...but if he was to go a month without drinking...it woudl sound just as loudly as if he did...sleeping on his side doesn't help either....he is a tad bit overweight...but it's just a little...i do make him nwork out..and it's helped like a tiny teeny bit....
I think he does have sleep apnea because he would sometimes stop breathing for like 15-20 seconds and then snore really loud afterwards...I know i should sleep in another room but i dont like sleeping by myself...and really i don't like sleeping without him either
I called a couple of doctors today and they are expensive...consultations by itself is 200...and than it ranges from 800-2400 afterwards...he does have insurance but still that's still expensive...
I just want to know if there are any alternatives that is cheaper and that works!...I'm so desperate...and also does sleep apnea correlate with premature ejaculation?? while sleeping he's deprived of oxygen right??..i wonder if that relates.....He's never gone longer than two minutes, a lot of times it could be like 15 or 30 seconds...although he's never had a problem getting hard...or getting hard again...
lastly he works out pretty well since i got him into it....and his body has toned up a bit...he was never flabby to begin with...but now u can see some minor definition....but like i said he has been working out for a year..i figured his body should be more developed...his friends that work out with him have all sculpted out a muscular body...although they are thinner though...he works out about 5 times a week...about 1 hour to 2 hours each time...i wonder if sleep apnea is hindering his body's ability to build those muscles as well??
I do love him but we need to cure his snoring problem...i don't know how much longer i can take this....

ANSWER:
Ok. Classic symtoms of sleep apnea. This is a semi-serious problem. The doc will prescribe him a c-pap machine. Google it.If he'll use the thing, he and you are very likely to sleep much better, and consequently, feel and function much better. But, he'll still snore when not using the gadget.
There may be a fix for the cause of his snoring. Google for that too, and check with a ear, nose, throat (ENT) doc.
Down side is he's got to be willing to cooperate.

QUESTION:
How do I cure insomnia while I am pregnant?
I am 4 1/2 months pregnant and insomnia came along with it. I cannot sleep at night and finds it precious to sleep during the day. My mother-in-law is freaking out because she thinks I intend not to sleep, plus, I told her yesterday after my monthly check up that I lost a pound. The reason behind that is that I threw up the morning before I went to see the doctor and didn't get to eat at all.
My husband and I live with them (his family) and they're all used to not sleeping early. I hear tv in my room, i hear doors opening and closing, i hear footsteps and i hear them talk sometimes. I can't do anything about it because it's what they're used to and it's their house. Plus, my husband has sleep apnea so he snores when he sleeps.
I feel so bad. What do I do? I don't ike them thinking that do not care for my baby by staying up at night and not sleeping at all. What I don't like more is that some other relatives get to know that, too, which I find not so nice. I just cannot sleep, that's it. They should know that pregnant women experience insomnia and not accuse me of being irresponsible. SIGH

ANSWER:
Darling I have Sleep Apnia, and have lived with many different cultures. I strongly suggest you try not to sleep during the day time. IF you are fit and your pregnancy is safe (you do not have a history of mis carriages) perform gentle exercises in your room before going to bed. Anything that does not put strain on your stomach and they can be done sitting in a chair or on your bed. USE EAR PLUGS! If your in the Philippines, I'm sure your can buy them in a Pharmacy, Drug Store, Chemist shop, or what ever the shop is called in your country! And they are cheap! In laws can be a big pain in the butt! Your husband needs to stand up for you and explain that what your experiencing is normal for a lot of women and they need to change their primitive attitudes and give you love and understanding so you are without stress at this difficult time. Your husband and you could benefit from him sleeping on his side facing a fan and have it blow air into his face. It will reduce his snoring. Also you can find aids in a pharmacy. They are like sticking plasters (band Aids) that fit over the snoring persons nose and make the nose holes larger while he sleeps! Good luck. Muleman.

PLLZz som1 with some proper answers plz help me!!!! lol
im desperate-
ANSWER:
Most people snore occasionally, some because they are overweight (the fat compresses on the throat and makes it hard for the air to travel through the windpipe) some because the tongue slips back blocking the opening to the windpipe (this is usually caused when you sleep on your back)
so if you are overweight - hit the gym, if not you can sew a golf ball into the back of your PJ tops so you won't lie on your back, if you happen to roll over in the night you will just roll back again, your body will get used to not sleeping on your back and eventually you just won't do it.You can always go to the doctor and get checked out to see if there's any medical problems.

QUESTION:
30 day juice fasting..?
Okay... I am 5'6' and weight over 160 pounds over what I should be. I am starting to snore in my sleep, having heart flutters, very hard to move around, starting to have sleep apnea (I THINK), and scared to die soon. That is why I desire to juice. I know that juicing will help me naturally and suffeciently. I need to loose weight or I might die from sleep apnea. And I really don't. I desire to have a 30 day of juicing with vegetables and fruits. I have been consumed in my weight for over 4 months now. I've been eating lots and lots of junk food, and is very addicting. And know (from research) that eating raw, and juicing will cure this. Because what I have been eating has an addicting drug in it. (I sometimes wish there were drugs in fruits instead of junk food. But then that wouldn't be healthy either)
Anyways, I just want to know any tips, suggestions, advice, sites, books, cds, etc. And I want to know what you think of me doing this. Is it good, is it bad? BTW, I am new to juicing and eating raw.
I did my best once to just have a balanced eating regime, but it never works for me. I even binge of good food, when I mix veggies with bread and refined stuff.
I have just heard numurous reviews on how juicing and eating raw has helping many, many fat/obese people. And am excited to begin. I am also doing it for spiritual reasons to, get connected to earth, etc.
Also, after I am done with this juicing, I decide to go raw completely. Make raw food cakes, cookies, muffins, etc.
What do you think??? I'M EXCITED!!
(no rude comments please) thankx o
Do not tell me I will die, because that's a lie. I have seen youtube videos of people juicing for 100 days even. So do not say that is "impossible" or anything like that. There is no way you can stop me, but I just wanted you point of view. Just not dyeing. That's preposterous!-
ANSWER:

QUESTION:
Palpitation, Tachycardia, Electrolyte/ Mineral imbalance?
Hello
I am a female 19 y.o and ive been experiencing tachycardia and palpitation for years. Also just to add information, i have GERD, sleep apnea, spasmophilia, insomnia, respiratory problem (dont know whats the cause). In earlier times its not this bad so evidently it got worse unfortunetly which worries me. Did ECG, ECHO, holter monitor 24 hours, t3 t4 tsh tests but didnt find the cause. Now im on beta blocker (propranolol) for years although didnt really help much but ive no other choice but to take it. It could happen almost all day and i cant do normal activities. I dont know what i should do anymore and its really bad and frustrated me. I really cant find the cause and the cure.
I read about mineral defiency, electrolyte imbalance, hormonal imbalance have something to do with it. Because a lot of people said they experienced that and it has helped them.
But how do i know if i have this imbalance situation going on? Which one is high and which one is low and how much should i take? I cant just take all of them (calcium, magnesium, potassium, vit b) because if i ended up getting it too high/imbalance then it will make it worse. And does the electrolye/mineral level change everyday in our body? Ive been on calcium, magnesium and kalium test but the result was in normal range. But i read on some site when i was googling that it could appear normal but doesnt mean you dont have any defiencies. It doesnt always accurate and theres an explanation but i forgot.
Also i read that cayenne pepper and mother tincture would help but the other said the opposite which confused me.
If anyone knows any information related to it, please help.
I would truly appreciate it, thanks.

Do you, ladies have PCOS?
I do, and i believe that all women who has , should start writing long letters to docs, explain how messed up can be and find not a treatment but A REAL CURE, for this curse of nature.my personal experience.
I got my period 14 years old, it was painful, like a stomach ache.
After my first period the second one came 5-6 months after. PAIN PAIN PAIN, VOMITING , LOW PRESSURE, FAINTING,COLD SWEATS, all these for 12 years, ( iim 26 now) and i didn't knew , my family didn't get me to the doctor, (messed up family, another big story), and when I went to a doc, she told me that i have them and its ok. Did you know that:
More than 50 percent of women with PCOS will have diabetes or pre-diabetes (impaired glucose tolerance) before the age of 40.

Chance of getting endometrial cancer
the symptoms are:

ANSWER:
It is a good thing that the cause of your rapid heart beats are unknown. However the chances for them being due to the side effects of any medication that you may be taking or experiencing the symptoms of anxiety, are much higher. Also, most of the minerals in our body can be measured from our blood serum, red blood cells, tissue cells, or urine.
For now, eat healthy and you can get a diet planned out for yourself by consulting a nutritionist, walk daily and be stress free.
Good Health!

QUESTION:
Is there help for the parent portion of a FAFSA student loan?
A lot has happened in my family since I started college. The situation our economy is in now has been a reality for my family for a while. Mainly because my dad up until last summer had been working at GM for 32 years. He had the option to retire with a small buyout or be assigned a new job and half his pay. Along with this our health-care has changed quite a bit. Last year we were allowed 5 doctor visits the entire year for a family of 4..... This year our insurance no longer covers doctors visits and we have a 0 deductible so basically I can't go to the doctor unless I'm dying. So now I have a knee that I cannot stand straight on without pain, acid reflux that I've had constantly for almost 10 years, and a mole that is changing and I'm SOL. After this semester of college I will have one more in the fall before I graduate. My sister is in the last semester of a 5 year nursing program too. At this moment we have just under 0,000 in loan debt between the two of us. Basically the loans my parents took out are getting ridiculous. The monthly payment is about 0, and that doesn't include the 0 in interest that ac-cured this year. I am already a full time student (13 hrs) with two jobs (i have a campus job 8 - 12 hrs a week, and an internship/part-time job on nights for 20-25 hrs). Right now I make just enough to get by on (not enough to eat right) in combination with the small my fiancee makes working at her daycare (she is in her first transfer year of an education degree and is in a worse off financial situation than we are, I can only hope she will be able to finish school).Basically me and my sister are going to have to work more now so I will be a full-time student and employee. The next problem is that my dad is trying to find a job at 60, but nobody will hire him. My mom worked for Sprint for 35 years, and now works at their local phone split off Embarq. They were recently bought by another company and my dad says she has been quiet a lot lately and telling him he needs to find a job. Basically she might be losing her job too. The house they are in needs a lot of work and that is what my dad has been TRYING to do. We have an old RV they may live in if they have to but that is a last resort obviously. Right now school is the last thing on my mind. I'm constantly thinking about money and how I'm going to be in debt until I retire, how I'm going to be able to pay for everything, my loans, my parent's loans, all on a job around ,000 (if that and even If I can get a job) after I graduate.
I don't know what to do. I'm stressed, depressed for sure, and I've never seen my parents like this. Neither of my parents went to college and had been at the same job all their lives busting their ass just for me and my sis to go to school and it's all turning around and biting them in the ass. It makes me wish I had never gone to school. I would be so much happier just working and living and not worrying about huge amounts of debt. Another great thing is that GM discontinued scholarships to employee dependents to cut costs (they have their mind in the right direction, give up on the future). We relied on these scholarships for books. I can't get any scholarships because my parents combined were always just under that 0,000 mark but it never took into account my dad was working 60 hours a week for two years and he developed sleep apnea. I just have lost all hope of a happy life. I'm set out to be a peasant just like my parents were, with nobody giving a damn. I hate all these college students who take everything they have for granted, never knowing the hardships people go through. This is what our land of opportunity offers us, a lifetime of debt and taxes. It would be such a relief to just kill myself and not have to live every day as a struggle. My relationship with my fiancee is starting to dwindle because I'm so depressed and can't remember what love felt like. We hardly see eachother, I never see my friends, I have a POS car that doesn't run half the time....... What's the point of life if you can't enjoy it. Does nobody see the rest of the world and what really happens or are they all really that ignorant and selfish? Sorry about this, but does anyone know if there is any help out there?

QUESTION:
How did I get sleep apnea? Can it be cured? What did I do to get this suddenly?
I was diagnosed with
I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about 3 years ago, at age 38, out of the clear blue sky. I hear it is hereditary but no one in my family has this. How in the world could such a disease just be acquired out of the clear blue?? I hear it could lead to stroke, heart attack and all sorts of stuff. How in the world do I get rid of this and how in the world did I get it????????-
ANSWER:
Sleep apnea is very common in individuals who are oveweight. The excess tissue around the neck can partially obstruct the airway while you are sleeping. If you are not overweight, it is also possible you have enlarged tonsils or a particularly large tongue, both of which can also cause similar problems. The cure is to fix the problem, either weight loss or tonsillectomy. With sleep apnea, you literally stop breathing for a short time, but this happens tens to hundred of times throughout the night. You won't die in your sleep from this, but your body responds by waking you up (typically it's for such a brief time that you aren't even aware of it). But the accumulation of waking up for these brief spells throughout the night results in daytime sleepiness. You should also know that sleep apnea is associated with pulmonary hypertension, which can lead to both lung and heart disease down the road. Until you are able to lose weight, your doctor can prescribe a CPAP machine. CPAP stands for continuous positive airway pressure. It is a mask that you wear at night which pushes positive pressure into your throat to maintain the airway open. You don't feel the air at all but the mask itself takes some getting used to. Hope this helped, good luck!
